External Experts

At times, we require direct research input from outside Central Bank of Ireland to boost the quality of the research underpinning our policy advice. Through this programme, we have funding available to directly finance research projects conducted by external researchers. In some cases, the researcher will carry out the work alone; in other cases, they will work jointly with our researchers.

Who should apply?

Our external expert projects are aimed at leading experts/academics in strategic areas who are interested in, and aligned with, our agenda and can fill gaps in our in-house technical expertise.

Duration

The length of the programme is conditional on the project. Successful projects in the past have typically lasted between three and 12 months.

Funding

We offer remuneration for the services provided by the expert, subject to discussion with the external expert on the likely required time commitment.

How to apply?

Each individual external expert project will have its own call for applications. For more details on the programme, please contact [email protected].
