In July 2021, the ECB Governing Council committed to including climate change considerations in its monetary policy framework.  This commitment involved, amongst other deliverables, new climate-related statistical indicators.  The focus of this Article is on describing the new analytical indicators of carbon emissions for financial institutions resident in Ireland.

The global economy continues to be relatively resilient, with the IMF’s July World Economic Outlook update forecasting world GDP growth of 3.2 and 3.3 per cent in 2024 and 2025 respectively (it grew by 3.3 per cent in 2023).
