Central Bank’s Open Data Portal – Making Data Accessible to All

Open Data

Central Bank of Ireland has launched a new Open Data Portal to make our data easier to access and use by all.

The Central Bank is the main compiler of Irish financial statistics and publishes data on a broad range of financial developments in Ireland.

Our statistical data is vital in assisting policymakers, financial market participants and the public to make informed decisions.

We have now developed a new Open Data Portal using international open data standards to make this data easier to access, reuse and redistribute.

This is consistent with the government’s Open Data Strategy which aims to make non-confidential data held by public bodies accessible and easily available online.

What can I use the Open Data Portal for?

The Central Bank collects and analyses a wide range of data in support of various aspects of its mandate.

This includes data on areas including:

  • Credit and deposits
  • Mortgage arrears
  • Interest rates
  • Investment funds
  • Securities markets developments
  • Quarterly Financial Accounts
  • Insurance and pension fund sectors
  • National Claims Information Database.

You can now access data held on these topics using the search and filter function or directly via an Application Programming Interface (API).
