The Central Bank of Ireland hosted the 2018 International Credit Union Regulators Network (“ICURN”) Annual Conference and AGM at its offices in North Wall Quay on 25-27 July. The conference was attended by regulators representing 18 jurisdictions covering Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, Latin America, North America and the Caribbean. Topics included regulation and supervision of credit unions, cyber security and FinTech.
At the AGM, Elaine Byrne, Deputy Registrar of Credit Unions, was appointed as Chair of ICURN for 2 years, starting September 2018. She succeeds Martin Stewart (Director at the Bank of England) in this role.
