Series C (1992/96 – 2000)
Famous Irish Historical Figures
In 1992 the Central Bank introduced another series of banknotes, featuring famous figures from Irish history. They were prompted to bring forward their plans because of widespread counterfeiting of the series B £20 note and the first note to be launched of the new series was the £20 note.
Series C notes were reduced in overall size and in 1996 the first £100 note was launched since 1977.
