Securities Markets Regulation
Date:
04 May 2018
The Central Bank hosted and participated in a RegTech Roundtable on 5 April, organised in collaboration with the UK Financial Conduct Authority, the Bank of England and University College Cork. The event was attended by over 90 delegates from Ireland and elsewhere, across industry, regulators and central banks. Colm Kincaid, Director of Securities and Markets Supervision gave the welcome address, noting the importance of technology and data analytics in modern securities and markets regulation, and the consequent need for better quality data and greater use of technology. The Roundtable, which included Central Bank participation, discussed “Model Driven Machine Readable and Executable Regulatory Reporting”. The idea looks at how we can change how we write regulation so that it can be both machine readable and human readable.
