Investor Money Regulations
Date:
10 December 2018
Today, the Central Bank published revised Guidance (PDF 826.26KB) and revised Q&As (PDF 661.77KB) on investor money requirements.
The purpose of the investor money regime is to safeguard investor money by ensuring fund service providers adhere to general principles and prescriptive requirements in this regard. The investor money requirements were updated by (and are now contained in) Part 7 of the Central Bank (Supervision and Enforcement) Act 2013 (Section 48(1)) (Investment Firms) Regulations 2017 (SI 604 of 2017). The Investor Money Requirements Guidance and Q&As are published to assist fund service providers in complying with the Regulations. The Central Bank has therefore revised its Guidance and Q&As on this topic to be consistent with Part 7 of the Regulations.
