Measures related to investment funds in light of ongoing market uncertainty due to Covid-19. Industry Communication, April 2020

The Central Bank of Ireland has issued an industry communication in relation to measures related to investment funds in light of Covid-19.

The purpose of this communication is to highlight certain Covid-19 measures to those responsible for the management of investment funds.  The communication draws attention to the Central Bank’s statement on regulatory flexibility measures for Securities Markets, Investment Management, Investment Firms and Fund Service Providers.  It also highlights certain key considerations for fund management companies (including the need to consider communications / appropriate risk disclosure to investors during this period) and reiterates the importance of compliance with certain legislative and regulatory requirements.
