Benchmarks Regulation
Securities Markets Regulation
Date:
19 November 2018
The Benchmarks Regulation introduces a regime for benchmark administrators that will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial benchmarks in Europe. The Regulation entered into application across the EU on 1 January 2018, with transitional provisions for some current EU benchmark administrators until 1 January 2020.
The Central Bank of Ireland is considering the authorisation and registration processes and the third country provisions, endorsement and recognition specified under the Benchmark Regulation alongside our proposed supervisory regime with a view to drafting the relevant application forms, guidance and developing our supervisory processes as required. This is an ongoing process and we will publish a further update on our website in due course.
